Hotel History

The Cathedral Hotel is set just a few minutes walk from the magnificent Lichfield Cathedral

The Cathedral Hotel was originally a coaching inn – you can see the arched window in the bar area which was the entrance to the hotel.

As a hotel, the building has a long and successful trading history stretching back to the early 1970s. In 2003 the hotel, then known as The Little Barrow, was sold by owners Mick Denny and Jan Uzupris, to Mr & Mrs Steve Pike who ran it until 2007.  In this year the hotel was bought by Billy Shanahan who changed its name to The Cathedral Lodge.
