What’s on in Lichfield this spring and summer
The sun is finally shining and fun-filled summer days are on the way. Whether you are staying in Lichfield for a bit of ‘me’ time, enjoying a couples’ break away, or looking to keep the little ones entertained - there’s something for everyone in Lichfield.
May half-term from Monday 29th May to Friday 2nd June brings lots of outdoor activities for all the family to enjoy at the National Memorial Arboretum including seedball making, outdoor painting and storytelling yoga – amazing fun to be had in natural surroundings.
Spring bank holiday brings Lichfield Greenhill Bower to Lichfield City and Beacon Park on Monday 29th May, join in the celebrations and watch Lichfield come to life as the streets filled with a traditional procession and fair ground rides.
Lichfield Blues and Jazz Festival takes place from Sunday 4th to Sunday 11th June, whether you are a fan of jazz and blues, or live musical performances, this is the festival for you! Events are taking place throughout the city including our very own Cathedral Hotel, so check out the full programme and venues here.
If you are a fan of classic, vintage and modern cars why not visit the Rotary Cars in the Park on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July at Beacon Park. Rotary Cars in the Park is organised by the Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad in association with The Stan Bowley Trust and attracts up to 2,000 cars and in excess of 20,000 visitors each year.
The Lichfield Festival takes place across Lichfield City over 11 days in the summer from 6th – 16th July, . The summer multi-arts festival has a packed line up with a variety music from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales through to London Community Gospel Choir, comedians, community and family events too, and a special firework display to mark the end of the festival. It’s definitely a week not to be missed!
Lichfield Arts Fuse Festival from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th July, is a vibrant arts festival that is inclusive and accessible for all; bringing the best of live music, performance and visual arts together for the whole community, tickets are free but you need to order in advance online for information visit the website.
If you are in to electronic music Crooked House in the Park returns for the third time to Lichfield Beacon Park on Sunday 27th August with a line up this year including Groove Armada and Pendulum, with VIP experiences and Rum and Reggae stage.
Lichfield Food Festival is a celebration of food, drink and entertainment taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend with a huge selection of artisan food and drink stalls, cookery demonstrations, street food, music and entertainment, free children’s activities and much more.
Say goodbye to the summer at the annual traditional Lichfield Proms In Beacon Park on Saturday 2nd of September. Lichfield Proms is free annual outdoor concert that takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Beacon Park brining thousands of people together from across the region to enjoy an evening of music, picnicking and a firework finale.
