Lichfield is getting ready for a Christmas jam-packed with exciting events this year, to make up for the last. Come and see us at The Cathedral to experience all Lichfield has to offer this festive season, It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Our Hotel will be hosting Christmas Parties on multiple dates for you to enjoy, and there is so much going on around town. The Council will be providing the Festive illuminations in the City, accompanied by a festive market in the City Centre to create a real Winter Wonderland. Including festive food and gifts, rides, music and an entertainments stage in the square. Starting on the 28th November, lights will be ‘switched on’ at 5pm followed by the arrival of Santa.

The Cathedral Illuminated is a stunning light and sound experience with projections onto the Lichfield Cathedral School Palace building and onto the west front of the Cathedral, visitors are then invited into the Cathedral to visit the Crib and walk through the Christmas Tree Festival. This year’s event ‘The Manger’ is composed of beautiful imagery depicting everything ‘Christmassy’ and a stunning re-telling of the Christmas story, all created by the artistic collaboration Luxmuralis. The stunning gothic Cathedral will play host to a series of events including a Festive Food and Gift Fair, a Christmas Tree Festival, a Lantern Procession, concerts with the Salvation Army, a Toy Appeal, special services and more. 

Illuminated Arboretum will take place every day from Tuesday 7 December to Saturday 18 December 2021. With something to captivate visitors of all ages Illuminated Arboretum will take place across their 150-acre woodland site. Follow the lights through their gardens with all the family and enjoy the majesty of the Arboretum at night.

From 25th November 2021 – Sunday 2nd January 2022The Lichfield Garrick Theatre will once again bring audiences a real festive treat with this year’s full-scale pantomime All New Adventures of Peter Pan. Which “promises to be a dazzling show with a brilliant cast, larger-than-life costumes, and more laughs than you can shake your hook at!” Starring Sam Rabone. Find out more here.

Make special memories with the whole family this festive season when you visit Drayton Manor’s ‘Magical Christmas’ on selected dates from 13th November – 31st December 2021.
